Graphic Design
I chose to take a graphic design class as an opportunity to explore new mediums and thoroughly enjoyed learning about various techniques and how even fonts and colors can send a message so simply. This is a brief portfolio of some of the basic graphic design skills I learned.
This started with a static wordmark. The challenge was to use a word and manipulate it using any added characters to indicate an animal.
This was part of a personal project that I did revolving around a singer by the name KAYKO. I enjoy his music a lot and I wanted to make my own merch. I recreated this mushroom via Adobe Illustrator that was on a sweater he wore while on the show American Idol and then printed this design on iron-on transfer paper to put on a black denim jean jacket.
The assignment was to recreate a brand logo. I chose Starbucks since I am a huge coffee and Starbucks lover, and using Adobe Illustrator I traced the logo (middle logo) to replicate it (the all black version on the left).
This is another KAYKO inspired project in Adobe Illustrator. I took the lyrics of his song "What If?" and put them in a silhouette of his profile to simulate the thoughts the attack us in our heads, much like what this song describes. I ended up screenprinting this design onto T-shirts.
I designed a personal ligature in Adobe Illustrator and used Photoshop to warp the ligature onto the coffee cup in this stock image.
